Payroll Officer

The Client

u&u Recruitment Partners are proud to be recruiting an experienced Payroll Officer to join a collaborative, high-performing finance team on permanent basis.

The Role

We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Payroll Officer. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing part function payroll operations using Ascender and ensuring the timely processing of payroll for all employees.

• Fortnightly payroll processing for 400+ permanent and contract employees;
• Onboarding and maintaining employee files;
• Understanding of payroll legislation and award interpretation;
• Termination, redundancy and leave calculations;
• Uploading payroll into the general ledger;
• Payroll reconciliation; and
• Query management.

About You

• 3 + years proven experience as a Payroll Officer within a similar sized organisation;
• Knowledge of Ascender payroll software highly advantageous but not essential;
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information;
• Good understanding of payroll regulations and laws;
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; and
• High level computer proficiency in MS Office Suite.

The Benefits

• Salary circa 85k-90k + 12.75% super, depending on experience;
• Paddington Location- close to public transport with street parking available;
• 1 day per week work from home once trained; and
• Working as part of a small collaborative team environment.
