What’s the role?
Reporting to the People Business Partner – Sydney & Melbourne Retail, you will implement and drive HR initiatives that keep our employees engaged and motivated! You will be the first point of contact for all things HR across NSW and VIC, providing guidance and support to managers and frontline leaders including, employee relations coaching, leadership and support to ensure leaders and managers are equipped to deliver business operational goals through their teams. As the People Advisor you will play a pivotal role in shaping our workplace culture and driving success.
Further to the above your responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:
- Lead and coach managers to develop employee capability and handle all employee relations issues, including under performance, grievances, conflicts and investigations, misconducts, absence management
- Provide reporting and insights to managers and frontline managers to enable them to manage the operational requirements of the business
- Oversee the onboarding of all new employees and conduct exit interviews for all Leaders and High Potential employees
- Manage the end-to-end Apprenticeship program
- Partner with the Talent Acquisition team to ensure managers are following the correct recruitment process and leading the managers in the recruitment of staff
- Assist with the coordination and facilitation of people training for all employees
- Ensure the correct employee and job information data are accurate and up-to-date in the HRIS system
- Employee relations responsibilities including ensuring compliance is adhered to and accurate modern award interpretation
- Support the design, development, delivery and management of communications relevant to change initiatives
About you
- Previous experience in a similar role
- Knowledge of the Fair Work Act and other relevant employment legislation
- Previous experience managing investigations and performance management issues end to end
- Previous experience providing HR support within a retail environment – desirable
- Strong organisational and multitasking skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to build relationships with key stakeholders
- Ability to work autonomously
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
