Role Summary The People & Culture Advisor will join a dynamic, people-focused team that works to support employees and managers and provide solid HR advice to stakeholders in the organisation.
The People and Culture Strategic Pillars that form our core areas of work are People Partnering, Culture & Engagement, Recruitment & Retention, and Talent Development. The Advisor will support the People & Culture Business Partner, Director of People & Culture, and Learning & Development Business Partner in the daily activities that make up our “Business as Usual" as well as working on the projects and initiatives that shape our employee’s experience at MSI.
This is a varied role that is suitable for a people-focused, analytical, and strategic-thinking HR Advisor who is looking to develop their career in a for-purpose organisation that supports reproductive access in Australia.
Key Accountabilities
- HR Advisory: The Advisor will carry and maintain strong knowledge of Australian employment legislation and be able to offer sound advice regarding Award & Award interpretation, understand key areas of HR legislation, Occupational Health & Safety requirements, and use this knowledge to apply best practice HR advice and influence People & Culture policy and procedures.
- Payroll Coordination: The Advisor will coordinate our fortnightly pay run, in partnership with the Finance team, working with our outsourced provider to ensure that our staff are paid accurately and on time. The Advisor will be analytical and solutions-focused in their approach to payroll coordination.
- People Analytics: The Advisor will be responsible for organisational People & Culture reporting, Survey Submissions, and remuneration & benefits review with ongoing support and collaboration from the People & Culture Business Partner and the Director of People & Culture.
- Core Administration & Inbox Management: Employment-based administration will sit under the remit of the Advisor, working efficiently to create employment contracts, and employment-based change letters and maintain accurate employee files. The Onboarding & Offboarding of employees will be led by the Advisor through an efficient, semi-automated process. The People & Culture team also manages two inboxes, and the coordination of responses will sit with the People & Culture Advisor.
- Recruitment & Retention Support: The Advisor will support the People & Culture team and our Managers, who work together to recruit and retain talent to support our mission in Australia. The Advisor will use our Recruitment Software and existing templates to support our Managers in hiring key talent, working strategically to fill key roles with the right person for the role.
- Solid knowledge of the Australian HR landscape, understanding of best practice processes and current relevant legislation
- Clear, professional & articulate communication skills,
- Strong administrative skills and ability to navigate software and Microsoft Office Suite,
- Experience providing advice and support to managers and employees,
- Ability to multi-task, prioritise workload and adapt to business needs, working in a high-performing, fast-paced team,
- Analytically minded, comfortable with data and numbers relating to reporting and payroll,
- Solutions-focused and a creative thinker, working to find strategic outcomes for people-related matters,
- Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources/Employee Relations/Industrial Relations or employment law (desirable).
