Job description

Are you ready to embark on a fulfilling journey where you can truly impact the lives of students and school staff? Join our vibrant educational community as we search for a dynamic temporary full-time Principal to champion our dedicated team at Urangan Point State School and foster strong and meaningful connections among students, teachers, the community, and stakeholders. This is your chance to be a catalyst for positive change and create an environment where learning thrives. The role is to commence on 15 April 2024 until 13 December 2024, unless otherwise determined.

About Us:

Located close the amazing Urangan Pier and only a short walk to the beautiful Hervey Bay foreshore, Urangan Point State School is a small, well equipped school with proud cultural and historical roots.

We are a school of choice in the Hervey Bay area due to our excellence in teaching and learning, rapidly improving student outcomes, a strong focus on discipline and high expectations on student attendance and uniform standards. Our school staff are committed to a central vision of "literate futures" for all of our students, where every child can read, write and communicate effectively.

If you're looking for a school with a strong academic focus, high expectations on all students and with modern and up-to-date facilities, then Urangan Point State School is the school for you.

About the Role:

Responsibilities include, but not limited to;

  • Lead the school community to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision focussed on providing quality learning outcomes for all students.
  • Uphold the principalship as a valued based, ethical and moral activity.
  • Embed socially just practices in daily school life.
  • Set high standards for student and staff performance.
  • Active participants in lifelong learning and ongoing professional development.
  • Form partnerships with parents, other government agencies, community groups, industry and business.

Please refer to the attached role description for any mandatory requirements for this position.

How to apply:

  • Please attach a brief resume including contact details for 2 referees (referees should have an understanding of your relevant previous work history); and
  • A 2-pg response to the “How you will be Assessed” section of the attached role description.

We welcome all applicants to share any support needed to ensure our recruitment process is inclusive.

Applications remain current for 12 months from the closing date and may be considered for appointment to identical or similar vacancies within the Department.

Applications from recruitment agencies will not be accepted.

When working in regulated employment an employee must have a current Working with Children Clearance (blue card) issued by Blue Card Services.

Salary rate shown is reflective of full-time (1.0 FTE).
