Our NSW Government client is hiring for a highly capable Principal Policy Analyst to join their organisation. By Joining the Economics and Evaluation Unit this role helps transform economic insights into policies that affect across the organisation and state. This is a chance to contribute to alignment of Business Cases with Policy goals, as well as contribute to ensuring BAU processes and standards are maintained. Previous experience in a policy role, within Government or a Consulting background is desirable
Role Title: Principal Policy Analyst
Contract Length: Till 11/08/2024
Hourly Pay: $80 - $90 + Super per hour.
Location: St Leonards/WFH Hybrid
Role Requirements:
- Prepare documents including briefing papers, discussion papers, evaluation reports, economic appraisals, submissions, related correspondence, and responses as requested to support organisational objectives and outcomes in relation to economic analysis, measurement and evaluation.
- Provide timely, high level advice and support to the Director: Economics and Evaluations and senior managers to support business processes.
- Contribute to the development of multi-dimensional resourcing strategies for specific projects to support informed decision making and strategic development.
- Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, representing and negotiating in order to facilitate contributions to the evaluation process regarding the economic and resourcing implications of strategic reform proposals.
- Participating in multiple projects and activites requiring high quality outcomes and deliverables.
- Translating technical economic and evaluation data into strategic information for a broader, non-economist audience.
- Participating in multiple projects and activities requiring high quality outcomes and deliverables and within agreed timeframes, given competing and changing priorities.
- Obtaining engagement and agreement from key partners to maximise acceptance of new initiatives given a highly political environment and competing priorities.
- 5 + years experience in a similar role.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications or demonstrated equivalent professional experience, in areas including health service management and/or economics.
- High-level analytical skills, and the ability to interpret complex information rapidly and accurately.
- High-level written communication skills, and the ability to translate and convey complex information for a broader non-technical audience.
- Proven ability to undertake projects utilizing project planning, prioritizing and time management skills within a multidisciplinary team environment.
