Your new role
As the Principal Procurement and Contract Manager, you will report to the Director Mobility Portfolio and will be required to operate under limited direction with a high degree of autonomy. You will work across 2 significant programs of work and provide leadership and advice to other members of the Mobility Portfolio and ongoing advice to the management and staff of SAPOL involved in procurement activities related to the Mobility Portfolio of work. You will work closely with Procurement and Contract Management Services Branch, Financial Management Services Branch and other relevant SAPOL areas as a trusted partner and stakeholder.
You will be responsible for the provision of customer-focused PROCUREMENT AND CONTRACT management services, including development and delivery of procurement policies, strategies and advice across SAPOL through a program of continuous improvement inline with SAPOL’s Future Directions Strategy, Government’s, and the State Procurement Board’s policy objectives.
It will be critical that you have strong relationship management skills, previous experience working at a portfolio level to ensure you have the holistic portfolio overview and be able to demonstrate clear and concise communication skills.
What you’ll need to succeed
Extensive strategic PROCUREMENT AND CONTRACT management experience
Development of procurement strategies, policies and procedures in a complex and changing environment
Ability to lead and manage several major procurement projects concurrently
Excellent stakeholder management skills – both internal and external
Experience in procurement including:
Analysis
Strategy development
Bid preparation and evaluation
Negotiations AND CONTRACT development
Performance measurement
Continuous improvement throughout contract management
Strategic and analytical skills
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Government experience is highly desirable
Salary
ASO8 - $119,317 to $123,822 per annum plus super.
