Opportunity:The City of Albany’s Finance Team is looking for an experienced and qualified individual to take up the role of Procurement Officer.Reporting to the Procurement Coordinator, this role will see you responsible for providing a responsive and customer focused procurement service that meets legislative and statutory requirements. This will be achieved by assisting with facilitating legally compliant, fair, and transparent procurement activities with the aim of achieving the best outcomes for the City and its stakeholders. The role includes, but is not limited to, the following duties:Coordinate the preparation and issuance of requests for quotations (RFQs), requests for tender (RFTs) and Expressions of Interest (EOIs).Ensuring compliance of procurement activities.Assist with the development and implementation of procurement policies, procedures, templates, and tools.Assisting with the preparation of contracts for execution.Managing records associated with procurement activities.Developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders both externally and internally.About You:The successful applicant will possess highly developed time-management skills, excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to communicate with people from diverse backgrounds and a strong attention to detail. The ideal applicant will also require;Sound knowledge, understanding and ability to interpret legislative and regulatory frameworks.The ability to follow procurement practices, policies, and procedures.A relevant qualification in procurement/logistics, business/commerce or law and/or relevant experience.
