About the role
The Operations Team is expanding in response to increased production quantities and product complexity. DroneShield is looking to recruit a Procurement Officer whose responsibilities will be critical in helping the business run smoothly during its next phase of growth.
The position will be part of the Procurement Team and will report directly to the Supply Chain Manager. They will work closely with the Production Team and other members of the Operations Team. This role will suit someone with excellent attention to detail and a passion for technology who wants to develop their career in a fast-moving ASX listed defence technology company.
Responsibilities, Duties and Expectations
- Request for quotation from the supplier
- Placing of Purchase Orders using our ERP system
- Confirming of expected date of delivery
- Tracking of deliveries
- Procurement relevant data entry in our ERP system
- Purchasing of general supplies
- Purchasing of materials requested by engineering
- Keep supplier information up to date
- Develop effective relationships with suppliers
- Compare prices, specifications, and delivery dates in order to determine the best option
- Follow delegation of authority when releasing PO
- Approve supplier invoices for payment
- Any other procurement related activities as they arise
Qualifications, Experience and Skills
- At least 2 years of experience in a procurement role
- Experience in procurement in manufacturing
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent time management skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Intermediate Excel (Essential)
- Experience using ERP systems
- Ability to follow processes
- Knowledge of engineering or technical environments (preferred)
- Have a ‘can do’ attitude and willingness to help in variety of tasks
