We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Production Manager to lead our production team and control the production process from ordering through to dispatch. As the Production Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient and safe operation of our production facilities. You will be responsible for managing all aspects of the production process, from rostering to process improvement and team leadership. This is a hands-on role that requires a strong leader who can drive results and maintain the highest standards of food safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the production department, including resource allocation, and workforce management.
- Implement and maintain efficient production processes to meet production goals, quality standards, and cost targets.
- Working to production schedules to optimize output while minimizing downtime and waste.
- Ensure compliance with food safety and quality standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices.
- Lead and motivate a team of production employees, providing coaching, training, and performance feedback.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including supply chain, quality assurance, and maintenance, to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and increase product quality.
- Monitor and analyse production data to identify trends and make data-driven decisions.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Production Manager in the food and beverage industry, with a track record of success in a fast-paced and growing environment.
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and quality assurance standards (HACCP).
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Flexibility to work in a fast-changing environment and adapt to new challenges.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles is a plus.
- Bachelor's degree in food science, engineering, or related field would be advantageous (or equivalent work experience)
