Job description

Rossmoyne Senior High School (SHS) is seeking an enthusiastic leader to join our team as Program CoordinatorVocational Education and Training (VET).
As a key member of the School Leadership Team, the successful applicant should have had recent experience leading a VET team. You would provide curriculum leadership in VET and collaboratively work with fellow Program Coordinators and School Administrators to implement the Western Australian Curriculum.
The successful applicant should possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills and, ideally, have experience in leading a team to provide professional leadership to teachers and other staff members in VET curriculum matters.
Rossmoyne SHS has a strong tradition of high achievement in the VET sphere, and the successful applicant would continue promoting this pathway and building on this success. The Program Coordinator – VET would lead, manage and plan all aspects of the school's VET, Workplace Learning, University enabling programs, endorsed programs and other training-related curriculum programs in collaboration with the principal and relevant associate principal.
The successful applicant should have an excellent understanding of VET in the secondary context and the capacity to build and maintain partnerships with businesses, training and other organisations to provide student opportunities. The ability to analyse student performance data and use this in planning is highly desirable. The Program Coordinator – VET is responsible for this business area's annual reflection, review, and operational planning cycle. There is an expectation that all staff engage in reflective practice, informed by a close examination of student performance data, and respond with relevant improvement plans.
The successful applicant will ideally embrace a personal commitment to the school's values: integrity, connection, aspiration, respect and excellence (iCARE). Additionally, teachers should be open to embracing the school's pedagogical process, including applying key learning capabilities within teaching programs, ongoing performance development processes and the associated program of quality teaching strategies, including peer observation. Our staff work collaboratively with their peers and other staff across the campus.
There is an expectation that all staff will focus on pastoral care and student wellbeing and commit to forming positive working relationships with students and colleagues. Staff engage with parents to assist student learning and ensure there are no surprises about student progress.
This position will include a teaching component.
As a Quality Teaching Strategy Lead School, the successful applicant will ideally be familiar with the Teaching For Impact Framework and understand what effective teachers believe, know and do to support student success. Our current Business Plan focuses on our vision to "honour the culture, embrace opportunity and shape the future". Further information can be found . We strongly encourage applicants to read through the plan to understand better the role's context and our commitment to ensuring our students are equipped with the skills, capabilities, and understandings that will empower them to live and work successfully in the 21st century.
As one of the first Independent Public Schools in Western Australia, Rossmoyne SHS is one of the nation's leading schools. Our students annually achieve outstanding levels of academic excellence. We provide exceptional visual and performing arts and sports programs, exciting opportunities in Vocational Education, and strong pastoral care. Our culture is described by staff and community as positive, professional, inclusive, dynamic, and focused on excellence. Our students are very proud of our school's positive reputation. They find the school diverse, progressive and filled with growth opportunities. They feel a sense of belonging and support each other to balance competition and cooperation to achieve positive outcomes.
