We have been engaged to source a suitably qualified Program Manager – Supply Chain to join our large retail client based in the South Eastern Suburbs of Melbourne.
As the Program Manager, you will spearhead the oversight and management of diverse initiatives within the organization. Importantly, rather than steering technology focused projects, this role offers a unique platform to drive operational excellence, business improvement, and infrastructure – centric initiatives within the Supply Chain Group.
The responsibilities you will drive are:
- Take charge of a varied portfolio of projects, steering them from conception to fruition while ensuring alignment with corporate objectives.
- Craft and maintain meticulous project plans, timelines, and financial budgets tailored to the unique demands of each business project.
- Facilitate seamless coordination and synergy among cross-functional teams, promoting robust communication channels and collaborative workflows.
- Proactively identify and mitigate project risks, obstacles, and interdependencies, safeguarding project integrity and timelines.
- Monitor project progress and performance metrics, furnishing stakeholders with timely updates and actionable insights.
- Champion a culture of continual improvement, driving initiatives to refine project delivery methodologies and enhance operational efficiency.
- Serve as the primary liaison for stakeholders, offering responsive support, addressing concerns, and furnishing regular project status updates.
You will bring the following experience and skills:
- Demonstrated expertise as a Program Manager or Project Manager, ideally with a business transformation or improvement focus.
Qualifications in Business, Supply Chain, or a related discipline.
Working familiarity with project management methodologies, tools, and best practices, coupled with exceptional analytical acumen.
- Exemplary leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a knack for galvanizing teams and fostering a collaborative ethos.
Some projects that you might have been tasked with steering may include:
- Warehouse / Network Optimisation
- Inventory balancing and optimisation
- Fulfillment process improvement.
- S&OP re-invigoration
- Transport and Logistics Risk Assessment and Mitigation Projects.
This role is best suited to a program management specialist with Supply Chain exposure, rather than a Supply Chain expert with project management experience. It might seem like a fine point, but the ability to drive home program management methodologies and ‘talk the talk with the business is what will ensure success!
