About the Program
The AIR 5428 Pilot Training System (PTS) partners with the Australian Defence Force for development of its military pilot workforce at four operating bases, RAAF Base East Sale, RAAF Base Pearce, RAAF Base Edinburgh, and RAAF Base Williamtown. Implementing and managing a tailored learning solution, Lockheed Martin leads the delivery of this approach for all Royal Australian Air Force, Royal Australian Navy and the Australian Army candidates; as well as supporting operations for other key Australian Defence Force aviation units.
This role is preferably based at East Sale, but can be accommodated from Melbourne with regular travel to East Sale.
About the opportunity
Provide effective leadership and management of supply chain strategies and activities for the Program from initial RFX, supplier selection, through to award, acceptance of deliverables, goods and services, and subcontract/PO closure.
Responsibilities will include (but not be limited to):
- Develop and implement supply chain activities and strategies to match all phases of the Program lifecycle in accordance with all contracted requirements, LMA processes and procedures, and synchronised with broader LM supplier relationship strategies
- Development of Supplier relationships in support of current and future Program supply chain strategies and needs, taking account of AIC implications, and in coordination with respect to global LM supplier relationship matters
- Lead development, implementation and ongoing maintenance of AIR 5428 Ph1 subcontract management and relationship plans, subcontracts, and supplier agreements
- Work collaboratively with the Program’s Contracts team to align commercial customer and supplier arrangements, and to ensure arrangements are back to back / consistent
- Manage the subcontract and supplier activities to ensure effective, value-for-money outcomes for the Program
- Develop and facilitate effective working relationships with key stakeholders for relevant technical, programmatic and Sourcing engagements
- Manage the Program’s Sourcing objectives including governance / compliance assurance, subcontract spend, project schedule delivery, and other sustainment integration elements supporting Program tasking and LM governance obligations
- Contribute to the identification, development, and implementation of Program-related continuous improvement and efficiency strategies/initiatives
About you:
- You are a seasoned Project Management professional with solid leadership skills, and extensive experience in the management of subcontracts and/or contracts.
- Demonstrated experience in establishing strong supplier relationships, managing supplier performance and working in a collaborative customer and supplier environment
- Demonstrated knowledge and practical experience in effective Subcontract management including management of the Australian Standard for Defence Contracting (ASDEFCON) suite of tendering and contracting templates, and commercial transactions
- Proven commercial acumen and experience in managing (sub-)contract changes and on-contract growth
- Demonstrated program leadership experience, with advanced communication, time management and decision-making skills
- Relevant Defence Industry experience in subcontractor deliverable reconciliation and management of non-conformances
