Project Manager Virtual Hospital | Uniting Care Health

(3-6 months fixed term contract)

  • A newly created role - Location negotiable, Brisbane or Sunshine Coast with occasional travel and flexible working arrangements

Your part in the UnitingCare team:

As the Project Manager Virtual Hospitals, you will work closely with the GM Lead and Chief Medical Officer to establish an effective project management environment or framework for delivery, developing the Virtual Hospital strategy and business plan by project managing a portfolio of initiatives to deliver realisable benefits on time and within budget.

With a focus on establishing the Business Plan for the next 5 years, this role will undertake a range of Project Lead/Management activities including but not limited to:

  • Establish an effective project management environment/ or framework for delivery; including sourcing, design and establishment of project team, project stakeholder engagement, change management and alignment to UCQ frameworks and processes
  • Develop and deliver all required project artefacts as agreed with the GM lead and hospital SLT, Virtual Hospital Steering Committee, Better Together Office or other governance forums as required, in line with quality standards and timelines.
  • Set objectives and prioritise tasks, delegating as required, ensuring good project cadence is established to deliver results.
  • Deliver projects as per agreed plans and identified scopes, ensuring the delivery of Business outcomes through efficient use of people, capital and process.
  • Manage project costs, and resources within budget and ensure the delivery of benefits tracking in accordance with the agreed business case.
  • Deliver project performance reporting on a monthly basis, calling out identified project risk and issues, implementing appropriate risk mitigation strategies.
  • Contribute to the development of sound business cases for new initiatives.
  • Undertake project post-implementation reviews, and record key learnings to enhance the delivery of future projects.

What makes a difference for us?

Essential:

  • Formal or professional qualifications in Information Technology, Business or related discipline
  • Project Management experience (minimum of 5 years in a senior project management role)
  • Highly organised with a high attention to detail and excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience in successfully managing and delivering projects to achieve critical business outcomes 
  • Capability in project planning techniques including the ability to assess and manage risks, costs, resources, and outcomes/deliverables
  • Proven stakeholder engagement and management skills at executive and senior management level with the ability to lead / influence a diverse group of people 
  • Excellent problem solving and problem resolution skills
  •  

Desirable: 

  • Certificate or Diploma in Project Management, or PRINCE2 / Agile Certifications
  • Previous experience or sound understanding of working with the Heath, Human Services and Not-For-Profit industry
  • Experience in developing strategic plans, strong Virtual Hospital knowledge or similar clinical service design knowledge, Project Managing multiple projects simultaneously ensuring best practice delivery methodologies, 
  • Experience working in matrix/ complex organisation structures
