Job description

We're dedicated to delivering impactful projects that enhance life on the Gold Coast. Whether it's streamlining operations or pioneering innovative solutions with technology and data, we are focused on delivering exceptional experiences for both customers and employees.

We're seeking passionate Project Managers to join us on our transformational journey and lead a variety of exciting projects.

About your new role

You will have the opportunity to lead a variety of Transformational and Technology projects that have been identified in our Transformation Roadmap and Strategic Portfolio.

These projects offer a blend of challenges and opportunities, including the review of our service, asset, and contract management practices, championing initiatives to elevate our customer experience and enhancing our capabilities across the organisation.

If you thrive in the tech space, here's your chance to take the reins on exciting ICT projects including foundational technology platforms and infrastructure, driving the integration of enterprise and SaaS business applications.

Each project presents a chance to make a tangible impact and will play a pivotal role in implementing a visionary target operating model for our City.

We’re looking for people who:

  • Have previous experience as a Project Manager, with a focus on organisational change, procurement or ICT a bonus
  • Drive teams forward with self-motivation and proactive leadership, steering them toward success.
  • Excel at empowering team members to contribute their best, fostering a collective sense of purpose aligned with organisational objectives.
  • Adapt seamlessly to diverse organisational cultures and embrace new ideas with enthusiasm.
  • Demonstrate unwavering dedication to personal and team performance goals, consistently raising the bar for achievement.
  • Are natural leaders, with strong diplomatic and interpersonal skills to negotiate the complexities that can arise from organisational change
  • Have experience in modern ways of working, for example applying Agile practices
  • Hold project or program management certifications (i.e. PRINCE2 or equivalent)

Be part of shaping the Gold Coast’s future

The Gold Coast is inspired by lifestyle and driven by opportunity. We are the second largest Council in Australia.

We care about being the most flexible government organisation in Australia. We have a range of benefits to help you create the right balance:

  • 9-day fortnight - enjoy a long weekend every fortnight
  • Flexible work arrangements to suit your lifestyle, including flexible working hours, hybrid, work from home and remote work options. Tell us what flexibility means to you and what best suits your lifestyle
  • Watch your career soar to new heights - take advantage of our personal and professional development programs and receive mentoring from passionate specialists who are invested in your growth
  • Access to 350+ fitness facilities through Fitness Passport
  • Receive 4 free confidential counselling sessions a year for you or an immediate family member
  • Enjoy 1 free nutritionist and financial advice session per year

We pride ourselves on our shared mission of being a high-performing, customer-focused organisation which delivers value-for-money services to the community.
