The Commercial and Project Services Division has a dedicated Project Management Office (PMO) responsible for the delivery of Council’s capital plan and employs specialist project and program management staff, experienced in capital works delivery including the management of scope, finance, schedule, stakeholders, risk and safety throughout the project lifecycle. The PMO apply project management fundamentals to deliver projects in accordance with the Project Management Framework (PMF), the approved capital plan and Townsville City Council governance requirements.
This position supports the PMO as the technical expert for both Procurement and Contract Administration by facilitating end-to-end tender and contract functions, along with promoting and supporting the PMO whilst ensuring compliance for each project, in line with the PMF and Townsville City Council governance requirements.
About you
To be suitable for this role, it is essential you have a Diploma in Contract Management, Project Management, or similar-related competency, Construction Industry White Card (30215 QLD) and a “C” class licence. You will also require 3 - 5 years’ demonstrated experience within a local government or similar environment, specialising in procurement and contract management throughout the project and contract life cycle.
You will have experience performing in a highly autonomous environment, often with conflicting priorities and deadlines with the ability to work both autonomously and in a collaborative work environment and have excellent communication skills to ensure stakeholders, internal and external, are well informed and contract execution is successful.
You will have knowledge of Local Government Transport, Stormwater, Open Space, Water, Waste, Cemeteries, Coastal and Property assets and knowledge of legislation relevant to Local Government procurement, contracting, Workplace Health and Safety and Quality Management.
