We are looking for generally registered Psychologists, who have experience working with Indigenous peoples and complex presentations, to join us in supporting those vulnerable groups in rural and remote Western Australia.
- This position involves flying out to towns (from Perth) to provide face-to-face therapeutic psychological services to those with complex support needs.
- Each month you will fly up for an overnight trip to towns in WA (e.g Karratha, Hedland) and provide evidence based diagnostic assessments and therapy. This schedule will be negotiated with the applicant to fit their personal schedule and their client needs. Report writing can be completed from down in Perth.
- This role offers flexible working conditions and you can work from our office, your home, up north (when providing face-to-face services), or most likely a mixture of all three. There is no traditional 9am to 5pm work week and as long as you meet your monthly responsibilities (outlined in your Job Description Form), you are encouraged to work to a schedule that best suits your lifestyle (and of course, the clients you work with).
- Part of the role may include servicing Perth clients and travel within the metro.
What this role looks like:
In addition to providing outreach services, you will possess the skills to work independently to meet a billable target of which these can be billed at any point during the month, adhering to the flexible working arrangements. The above may look like:
Effectively manage a caseload of diverse clients with disabilities across the lifespan, presenting with a range of psychiatric and behavioural difficulties including (but not limited to):
- Neurodevelopmental disorders (e.g. Attention Deficit- Hyperactivity Disorder, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Intellectual Disability)
- Mood and anxiety disorders (e.g. Major Depressive Disorder, Generalised Anxiety Disorder)
- Substance use disorders.
- Psychotic disorders (e.g. Schizophrenia, Schizoaffective Disorder)
- Personality disorders (e.g. Borderline Personality Disorder, Antisocial Personality Disorder)
Demonstrated experience conducting assessments with the person with disability at the centre of each assessment. Assessment types include:
- Diagnostic assessments (e.g., ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder Intellectual Disability)
- Psychometric assessments (e.g., WAIS, WMS, WISC, ABAS, Conners)
- Clinical Interviews (in a group or individual setting)
- Risk assessments of clients at risk of harming themselves or others
Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills with demonstrated experience working with multiple stakeholders (i.e., family, allied health professionals, teachers) to advocate for the needs of your client.
Designing, planning, and implementing clinical interventions to meet client goals using a range of evidence-based approaches including (but not limited to): behavioural therapy, narrative therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy, dialectical behaviour therapy, solution focused approaches, motivational interviewing.
A strong capacity for critical self-reflection to better your clinical practice and regular engagement in supervision and training as a means of continuing professional development.

What we offer:
For the amazing service you will be providing and the regular flying, we offer a take home annual package of:
- $110,000 - $140,000 per year + super (depending on role)
- A generous bonus structure that allows you to earn an additional $30,000 per year.

- Generally registered as a Psychologist with AHPRA
- A current WWCC
- Police clearance
