Our Organisation

Tender Care's focus is on supporting individuals, one-to-one, towards healing on their unique journeys of recovery of mental health and wellbeing, and in achieving their hopes, goals and dreams in life. Family members and friends with caring responsibilities may also be supported. Our support is provided in the clients' local communities located in parts of Perth metropolitan area, the Wheatbelt and South West WA. 

Our support is always guided by our values of hope, kindness, compassion, respect, trust, belief and integrity. It is recovery-oriented, relationship-based, person-centred and individualised, and often greatly enjoyable for all involved. Over 200 adult individuals a year are currently supported by 22 Psychosocial Recovery workers.

This Position

Due to demand for our services, we are expanding our team in the Southwest. The Psychosocial Recovery Worker/Coach will provide non-clinical psychosocial support in the community to our clients who have mental health difficulties or psychosocial disability and who reside in the upper southwest catchment area of Bunbury and surrounding areas. Clients may have NDIS funding or be eligible via Mental Health Commission WA block funding. The worker will strive to ensure the desired personal outcomes of every individual client.  

Hours of work are negotiable to suit the successful candidate. A minimum of 60hrs per fortnight if part-time and up to 75hrs per fortnight if full time. Employment is per SCHADS Award, SACS Level 1-3, depending on relevant qualifications or experience. PBI salary-packaging (up to $15.900pa) is available. A car and smartphone are provided.  

Skills, Experience & Attributes

  • -         Current WA driver's licence (essential)
  • -         Satisfactory current National Police Clearance certificate (essential)
  •           Satisfactory NDIS Worker Screening Check (essential)
  • -         Experience in providing individual psychosocial support (essential)
  • -         Understanding of the Recovery concept, its principles, approaches and processes (essential)
  • -          Knowledge of the NDIS (essential)
  • -          Familiarity with the advertised catchment area
  • -          Personal values which are compatible with our organisational values
  • -          Lived experience of mental health issues and recovery, disability or  indigeneity are welcomed.
