The Opportunity
To support the growth of our company, Bhagwan Marine is looking for an Purchasing Officer to join our Accounts team on a Fixed Term Contract for 6 months. This role will report to the Purchasing Manager in our Perth CBD office. Any prior experience in purchasing or procurement in the marine, oil & gas, or resources industries would be highly desirable.
Responsibilities
- Use request to purchase (PQ) forms to raise purchase orders in Dynamics.
- Assist with receipting goods received into Dynamics when required.
- Assist with the review and completion of supplier credit applications.
- Conduct spending analyses on the supply market to identify suitable suppliers.
- Develop sourcing strategies to identify suppliers capable of meeting requirements and demand whilst minimizing risk and costs.
- Liaise with suppliers regarding products, prices, and geographical coverage.
- Assist in the implementation of new supply structures.
- Assist in managing suppliers via structured and planned supplier reviews.
- Liaise with suppliers regarding quotations, orders, deliveries and corrective actions around delivery issues and invoice discrepancies.
- Coordinate data management and maintain information records.
- Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of systems, policies, procedures, and practices involving the purchase order process.
- Ensure that the appropriate processes and information flows are utilised to maintain timely communication across the business and with suppliers.
- Assist in the development and implementation of action plans and proposals to prevent stock and inventory issues.
- Ad-Hoc tasks as required by the Finance Team.
Requirements:
- Must have full Australian working rights with no restrictions.
- Must be located in Perth WA.
- 1 - 5 years demonstrated accounting/purchasing experience.
- Sound business acumen / commercial sense.
- Experience in the Marine, Oil & Gas, Resource or Construction Industry sectors is desirable.
- Strong computer skills in Word, Outlook, and Excel.
- Results orientated.
