Mt Cuthbert Group is involved in the Mining & Resource sector with a number of projects operating in North West Queensland including the Rocklands site near Cloncurry and our Mt Cuthbert site near Kajabbi. We require the expertise of an experienced Purchasing Officer who thrives on diversity and perfection.
Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Purchasing Officer is responsible for providing purchasing, accounts and administrative services in order to ensure efficient operations for goods and services utilised by Mt Cuthbert Resources at our two sites in NW QLD.
Working Monday to Friday in our Townsville office (with some site travel required), the role will involve the following:
- Complete supplier credit applications and set up new suppliers in Accounting and Purchasing systems
- Monitor purchasing inbox for new requests and process them in a timely manner and assist staff to raise purchase requests in our new ERP system
- Obtain appropriate approvals for non-system invoices
- Reconciliation and tracking of PO's
- Managing a portfolio of approx. 300 requests (via email) per week
- Provide support to management and staff on purchasing matters
- Work within a team environment to support business operations including Accounts Payable
The desired candidate will have the following:
- 1-3 years of demonstrated finance / admin experience, including proven experience in a fast paced environment
- Advanced MS Excel skills
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Outstanding oral & written communication skills
- Ability to multitask, work to deadlines and remain effective under pressure
- Mining Industry experience desirable
