Ward Clerk / ReceptionistAbout the roleMater Private Hospital Townsville is seeking an experienced Ward Clerk / Receptionist to join its Patient Services Team. The successful candidate will work 7.30 am-3 pm, Monday to Friday, across the Orthopaedic, Neurology, and Paediatric wards.Salary range: $28.68 - $33.28 per hour plus superannuation and salary packagingThe Patient Services team captures, tracks, and reports all patient data from pre-admission to discharge, aligned with health information standards, health fund, and public patient revenue regulations. This information is analysed and reported to stakeholders to guide the use and efficiency of our hospital services and support business development decisions with recommendations for process improvement and revenue maximisation.What you'll be doingAs the Ward Clerk/ Receptionist, you will work within an interdisciplinary team and be responsible for efficiently, accurately, and timely providing a range of administrative services.Tasks may include but are not limited to:

• Patient admission, discharges, and transfers
• Medical record preparation, tracking, filing and maintenance
• Driving customer service through direct customer support and stakeholder communication
• Assisting with patient billing, wayfinding, and general enquiries.

About youTo be successful in this role, you will possess:

• Proven experience working in an administrative role within a medical or hospital environment.
• Sound computer literacy and numeracy skills, well-developed keyboard skills, and familiarity with patient administration systems.
• Sound written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work quickly, efficiently, and accurately under pressure.
• Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills and ability to work under the direction of others in a multidisciplinary team environment.
