Kimberley Accommodation West is currently seeking a Full-Time Receptionist to fill a vacancy at Moonlight Bay Suites in Broome, Western Australia.
Moonlight Bay Suites consists of a 62- self-contained hotel apartments overlooking the spectacular Roebuck Bay in the heart of town a fun place to live, work, experience and explore the beautiful Kimberley region.
The successful candidates must possess:
· Have previous experience in a similar role in a remote location
· Enjoy working as part of a team but also possess the ability to work autonomously
· Ability to demonstrate a commitment to outstanding customer service
· Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
· Strong organisational skills with clear focus on quality and standards
· Computer proficient - CMS GuestCentrix PMS experience preferred.
· Excellent grooming and presentation
· A flexible attitude to working hours as this role does involve weekend & evening shifts
Key Responsibilities:
- First point of contact for guests.
- Check in and checkout of guests.
- Process deposits, payments, and issue receipts.
- Ensure that all incoming reservations, whether by phone, fax, e-mail, and letter or in person are given priority.
- Maintain quality and accuracy of reservations through training and communication.
- Ensure the required information is communicated to Management and Housekeeping departments in order to provide high standards of customer service at all levels.
- Monitor arrivals lists each day to ensure accurate, complete information.
- Keep up to date with room rates & special packages. Be familiar with package inclusions and valid dates.
- Make sure that the balance at end of day/shift, money handling and credit card and Eftpos transactions are all correct.
- Follow Property policies and procedures with respect to grooming, performance and conduct standards, occupational health and safety and emergency procedures.
- Assist with general cleaning duties in reception area.
- Assist with portering duties i.e.; guest request – bus transfers, cots, rollway’s, sofas etc. as required.
- Set up breakfast and clear away at end of breakfast.
- Take ownership of issues relating to Front Office and actively seek to resolve them
- Responsible for accounts receivable for the hotel. This includes:
· Maintaining accurate records of all accounts and ensuring that they are sent to the relevant companies
- Reference checks for all pending credit applications and informing the company of terms and conditions if they pass the requirements
- Ensuring all received monies are balanced against the correct invoices
- Sending out monthly statements for outstanding accounts
· Following up outstanding accounts, Liaising with accounts department
