Melbourne Legacy is a for purpose organisation which provides tailored and personalised support and services to the families of veterans who have given their lives or their mental or physical health in Service to our country.

The range of services provided by Melbourne Legacy is diverse with the individual needs of the families of veterans being met through professional case management, referral pathways, wellbeing, financial assistance, advocacy and personalised care delivered through a network of dedicated volunteers known as Legatees who are supported by a team of social workers and mental health professionals.

Melbourne Legacy’s vision is to create a society in which no veteran's family is disadvantaged by Service to our country.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting directly to the Executive Assistant / Chief of Staff, this role is designed to support the smooth running of the Melbourne Legacy Office.

As the Receptionist, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the delivery of high-quality customer service that is professional, culturally respectful, and friendly where you will welcome clients, staff, visitors, legatees, volunteers, and the public, learning all facets of the organization so to be sure to direct any queries to the right business area.

This is a dynamic role that requires flexibility and the ability to prioritise tasks as no two days are the same. The role involves welcoming visitors, clients, and volunteers, with warmth and care. Answering telephone calls, email enquiries and keeping the reception area neat and tidy. Other duties include assisting with day-to-day upkeep of the office including restocking supplies as needed and providing administration support as needed.

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written.
  • A friendly and approachable demeanour.
  • Excellent administration and customer service skills.
  • Strong prioritisation, multitasking and organisation skills.
  • The ability to work independently as well as a member of a team.
  • The ability to form strong and meaningful relationships with families and students.
  • A high standard of personal presentation.
  • Extensive experience in administration support (or similar); certificate or diploma level qualification in business or associated disciplines will be highly regarded.
  • Outstanding interpersonal, verbal, non-verbal and written communication skills, and ability to engage personably and effectively with a range of stakeholders.
  • Accomplished computer skills including high competency in the use of Salesforce and Microsoft Office products.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Undertake national police check and a working with children check.
  • You will be required to have been vaccinated for influenza, COVID-19 and any other highly transmittable diseases determined to be applicable or be required to produce an exemption from a registered medical practitioner.
