What you'll be doing:
Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District has a unique opportunity to join our team as Research Governance and Development Manager, on a permanent Full Time Basis.
This position will manage Research Governance as well as development functions, as well as contribute to and roll out Research Governance framework, provide support to the Clinical Trials Manager and take responsibility for the Research Strategy and Implementation Plan.
Our successful candidate will oversee all functions of the Research Development and Governance Unit, working collaboratively with the Director of Research Operations to build high quality research capacity and capability across NBMLHD.

All NSW Health workers are required to have completed a primary course of a COVID-19 vaccine which has been approved or recognised by the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA). Additionally, Category A workers are required to receive a booster dose three months after completing the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations. New applicants must have completed the vaccination course prior to commencement with NSW Health, or provide an approved medical contraindication certificate (IM011 immunisation medical exemption form) certifying the worker cannot have any approved COVID-19 vaccines available in NSW.
Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.
Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable permanent resident or citizen of Australia has been identified and must not exceed the duration or conditions associated with the current visa.
Selection criteria to be addressed: * Tertiary qualifications and/or equivalent extensive experience in a research management or academic role working within a Local Health District or University.
- Demonstrated comprehensive knowledge and understanding of Human Research Ethics Committee (HREC) and Research Governance (RG) frameworks as well as other relevant state and national policies e.g. National Health and Medical Research Council of Australia (NHMRC) National Statement.
- Demonstrated effective experience in managing and leading diverse research teams, including the ability to work across disciplines.
- Knowledge and demonstrated experience in implementing organisational change at the management level.
- Ability to work autonomously, use sound judgement and manage high volumes of work with competing deadlines.
- Demonstrated methodological approach to work and high attention to detail.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication, conflict resolution and negotiation skills which demonstrate an ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholder groups.
- Current NSW Driver's Licence and willingness to use for work purpose travel.
