The Role
The Resource Manager is responsible for the facilitation and delivery of resource solutions for client engagements, pre-sales opportunities and internal work. By managing the availability of and allocating the internal workforce, the Resource Manager plays a critical role in the success of our business.
They will be adept at managing a limited supply of resources against constantly changing demand; mindful of team dynamics, and able to resolve issues or conflicts while supporting team morale.
On a day to day basis there are last minute adjustments due to emerging priorities, schedule changes, scope changes, or changes in the available resource pool due to illness, resignations or reassignments.
Responsibilities
- Perform quality and effective resource deployment to meet specified requirements in terms of skills, and cultural fit
- Facilitate resource solutions to maximise margin and realisation results
- Support processes to deliver resourcing outcomes
- Strategically work with key business stakeholders to forecast demand and supply across the pipeline to project closure life cycle, while focusing on managing a consolidate view of data and Resourcing metrics via reporting.
- Identify skills set gaps for pipeline and inflight projects and engage with Recruitment to communicate skills set shortages
- Lead Resource meetings to monitor employee utilisation and management of bench data
- Working with Project Managers and Practice Managers to mitigate resource concerns by reallocating or assigning additional resources.
- Working strategically to identify supply and demand constraints and providing solutions to mitigate risk
Experience Required
- Experience in IT consulting environment, ideally in the SAP/Microsoft
- Strong experience in Resource Management, Workforce Planning or Scheduling roles
- Excellent attention to detail, particularly when dealing with high volumes of data and reporting
- Understanding of commercial considerations and imperatives in resource allocation and scheduling
- Understanding of sales environments, cycles, bids and tenders processes
- Demonstrated ability to deliver against multiple accountabilities
- Highly developed communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment
- Experience with previous Resource Management systems
