The role
The Manager of Strategic Initiatives, Risk & Compliance is a leadership role in the Product & Underwriting department that focuses on delivering important projects and strategies for the Home Underwriting and Product (HUP) team. You will be responsible for effectively managing risk incidents within the team and establishing a strong incident management framework in collaboration with the Risk and Compliance teams. This includes managing strategic initiatives, projects, major initiatives, product roadmaps, and risk incident management.

Accountabilities
- Identify and deliver strategic initiatives that align with the goals and objectives of the Home Underwriting and product (HUP) team.
- Establish and maintain a robust incident management framework for the HUP team in collaboration with the Risk and Compliance teams.
- Monitor and assess risk incidents within the HUP team, ensuring timely identification and resolution.
- Develop and implement protocols, processes, and controls to effectively mitigate risks and minimise the impact of incidents on team operations.
- Coordinate with relevant stakeholders to ensure appropriate actions are taken to address risk incidents and customer impacts.
- Monitor and evaluate the outcomes of strategic initiatives, providing insights and recommendations for future improvements.
Knowledge and experience
- 5+ years of insurance operations and/or risk management experience with a relevant tertiary education.
- 2+ years of project management and project coordination experience
- Technical experience and understanding of risk management and Compliance, including delivery of risk governance activities.
- Excellent communication, influencing and negotiation skills, including writing board and executive papers.
- Ability to build effective relationships with executive support, senior leaders and other key stakeholders.
