About Great River City Light Rail
Western Sydney is one of the fastest growing regions in our country, with the population of Greater Parramatta alone set to climb by 50 per cent by 2041 and at Great River City Light Rail we want to create new communities, connect great places and help locals and visitors move around and explore what the region has to offer. The new Light Rail will connect Westmead to Carlingford via the Parramatta CBD and Camellia, spanning 12 kilometres and utilising state-of-the-art vehicles that delivers comfortable, user-friendly and high-performance services. By 2026, around 28,000 people will use Parramatta Light Rail every day and an estimated 130,000 people will be living within walking distance of Light Rail stops.
The role
The Rostering and Planning Advisor has both an operational and strategic role to play in our business. Operationally you will focus on creating and managing the roster encompassing the competing priorities of various departments, fatigue management legislation and the enterprise agreement. By doing so you will ensure the roster delivers a robust, efficient and safe network. Strategically you will lead continuous improvement projects, collaborating with key stakeholders, consulting with the roster committee and create buy-in for proposed network and timetable changes.
What you bring
The successful candidate will have highly-developed IT skills including a thorough understanding of rostering or planning systems. You will possess a solutions focused approach informed by critical thinking and excellent analytical skills enabling you to develop and deliver meaningful reports. Having worked in a similar position you will be fully across the statutory, regulatory and safety procedures required in Rostering and Planning timetables. Key to the success of the role will be your ability to manage competing priorities in a deadline driven business whilst maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
The role
Based at our Camellia Depot, Parramatta and reporting to the Sourcing and Supply Chain Manager this role is a key support to the asset management team and is responsible for the planning for spare parts, consumables, tools and reman programs across the whole Parramatta Light Rail network. Vendor onboarding and ongoing inventory management will be key, you will also manage and maintain accurate records for warranty, material returns and non-conformance issues.
What you bring
Your background will include demonstrated experience in MRP and parts procurement (rail, maintenance, or heavy industry pref.). This will be supported by exposure to a governance structure in a parts-buying environment. In addition, you will possess the ability to influence and build effective working relationships both internally and externally with a focus on vendor engagement / management. This role will see you work both independently and contribute as part of a broader team.
