As a Senior Commercial Finance Manager, CMU you will actively contributes to the delivery of strategy and investment decisions whilst overseeing budgeting and forecasting, cash flow and capital management, financial performance management and reporting and financial risk management for the Commercial & Mixed Use Development Division
Your responsibilities will include:
Providing leadership, support and guidance consistent with strategic and financial targets. Build positive relationships across both the C&MU Development and Development Finance leadership teams, establishing yourself as a trusted, proactive and solution orientated business partner focused on shared outcomes. Build and lead a high performing Commercial Finance team to support the C&MU Development business, fostering close collaboration with the development finance and Group Advisory Solutions teams and across divisions and functions, in a manner that maximises business outcomes. Assist the C&MU Development leadership team in the development and execution of strategy.Responsibility for the co-ordination of the annual budget, quarterly and monthly forecasting processes. Key contributor to capital planning and ongoing management of portfolio targets (capital and returns) to provide options and initiatives to meet group objectives.Monitor and support deliverables and business unit performance reporting to meet short- and long-term targets. Maintain a portfolio view of project performance, risks and emerging finance issues. Work closely with project teams, providing strategic financial and investment support to assist them in assessing options and priorities along with meeting their financial deliverables. This includes involvement in the preparation and review of investment papers in addition to being a key attendee and participant in both project review and new business forums.Contribute to project team discussions in relation to key transactions; including potential deal structures (including coordinating across finance, accounting, tax, treasury to optimise outcomes); contribute to Investment Committee papers. Ensure robust cashflow management and forecasting is in place, building an improved focus on cashflow outcomes for the division. Manage business unit overheads, providing insights and recommending initiatives to manage the cost base in line with agreed budgets whilst maintaining appropriate controls. Responsibility for the raising and reporting of financial risks across C&MU Development at a portfolio and project level with a view to recommending and implementing appropriate mitigation strategies. To be successful you will have CA / CPA / CFA qualifications or other relevant tertiary education, indicative industry experience and previous involvement in material commercial transactions, optimising outcomes through a strong understanding of commercial drivers.
Experience as a respected business partner, with a demonstrable ability to partner with senior executives, non-finance professionals and the wider finance function is highly regarded.
Finally, you will have a background in managing finance teams, advanced commercial acumen and knowledge of development feasibilities and financial metrics.
