Urban Building Solutions Pty Ltd (UBS) is a growing company within the building insurance industry.  Having a large portfolio of national clients within insurance and strata, we are regarded as one of the most prominent insurance building service providers in New South Wales.  With a new head office in Summer Hill, UBS operates from Batemans Bay, Goulburn, Sydney Metro through to Newcastle, Coffs Harbour and Byron Bay. UBS is in the process of expanding further into the ACT and SE Queensland in the next 3-6 months.

We are currently seeking a Senior Estimator / Assessor to join our Sydney team. In this role you will be reporting to the Estimating Manager. There is opportunity for an immediate start, however we are prepared to wait for the right person to join us. Full training will be given.

As a Senior Estimator / Assessor you will need thorough building knowledge to enable you to work on both major and minor loss projects. Previous strata experience is preferred.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Detailed review of assigned inspections to ensure you are prepared for the site visit
• Liaise and coordinate with third parties including but not limited to strata managers, property managers, owners, tenants, and sub-contractors to obtain the required information
• Attend inspections in accordance with the claim inquiry to report and/or quote on the damages found and repairs required
• Compose accurate and detailed causation reports and quotes in order to win tenders with insurers and adjustors
• Build and maintain professional relationships with third party contractors and clients such as claims staff, adjusters, and strata managers

• UBS, part of the ARA Group, are in the process of expanding both into different geographical areas along with different construction services which will provide numerous opportunities to expand both knowledge within the building industry and offer potential management promotion to the right people.

Selections Criteria:

• Minimum 3-5 years proven experience within the building industry in a similar estimating role.
• Previous experience writing causation reports on the cause of damage and subsequent repairs to the property.
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office and estimating software programs.
