About the role
The Senior Finance Analyst is responsible for performing the accounting function and business partnering with the PN Assets team. In this role you will develop collaborative relationships with the business and support in the achievement of business goals.
Key Accountabilities include:
- Build and maintain strong business partnerships with Maintenance Execution Managers.
- Provide financial support to the Managers in relation to all financial and strategic decisions.
- Perform all aspects of the Locomotive maintenance month end functions, annual budget, strategy, and forecasts.
- Provide Managers with monthly management reports, variance analysis and any other financial reports as required.
- Co-ordinate the process to prepare the annual Budget for Locomotive maintenance.
- Support the Capital Analyst with project capitalisations.
- Supporting the internal and external audit and risk reporting, including collation of outstanding matters and assessment as required.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will be an experienced and motivated Finance Professional with the ability to work autonomously and collaboratively across different parts of the organisation. Initiative, effective communication, analytical and problem-solving skills are essential, as well as the ability to work effectively with systems and reporting tools. You will need strong knowledge of current accounting standards and excellent stakeholder management and communication skills to be able to build relationships with key stakeholders in different part of our business.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- 5 or more years accounting experience
- CPA, CA, or MBA qualified
- Strong Excel skills
- Ability to listen and gain a valid understanding of specific business issues and projects
- Experience in planning, strategy, budgeting, and forecasts
- Strong financial understanding of Cash Flow, P&L and financial metrics
- Ability to relate and work with people across the organisation
- Ability to work autonomously and meet strict deadlines
- Ability to manage competing pressure
- Experience in logistics or a similar industry advantageous
