About the Role
The successful applicant will:
- Lead specialist project activities to achieve the outcomes expected of the project.
- Coordinate the development, implementation and monitoring of project plans and phases, including the coordination of various activities and teams associated with achieving the project objectives.
The Senior Project Officer has responsibility for the following:
- Undertake project planning, analysis, integrate project activities and evaluate the impact of projects and initiatives.
- Develop, implement and monitor project services in consultation with stakeholders to ensure identified needs are met.
- Research, develop, maintain and review operational policies, standards, procedures and programs to support the unit's function across the department.
- Prepare briefing material, submissions, papers and reports.
- Coordinate, organise, participate and promote the activities of the work unit.
- Develop and maintain relevant links and networks with other units, other Branches within the department, other government agencies and other entities.
- Assist in coordinating, organising and promoting the activities identified within the program.
- Provide project advice, information and status, including preparation of correspondence, policy responses, speeches, articles, media releases and briefings for the Minister, Director-General and members of the Executive Management Board.
- Provide secretariat support for project governance groups to ensure effective implementation of project objectives within the established timeframes and allocated budget.
- Purchasing essential office supplies and arranging travel for project team. Other responsibilities (as required).
Other suitable duties, consistent with the duties and responsibilities of the position as directed by the supervisor or nominated delegate. The Senior Project Officer reports to the Director, Student Engagement and Alternative Learning within Disability, Inclusion and Student Services.
