About the Opportunity
This role is also responsible for proactively driving implementation of the Metcash SHE Strategy, deployment of practices which support legislative requirements, build capability within all levels of Metcash’s leadership, foster effective workforce, and trade partner engagement and drive continuous improvement.
We currently have a great opportunity for a safety professional to join the team based in Crestmead. This role will see you provide Safety, Health & Environmental (SHE) leadership and support to our 10 Food and Liquor sites operating across Queensland including Townsville, Cairns, Mackay and Rockhampton.
In this Role
- Provide strategic advice and support to senior management on SHE and Injury Management programs, policies, and processes, aligning with Metcash SHE Strategy.
- Conduct regular site visits to ensure implementation of SHE processes, fostering a culture of 'Safety as a Core Value'.
- Collaborate with the QLD Injury Management Advisor to strategize Workers Compensation claims management.
- Oversee compliance to training needs analysis and matrices, ensuring relevant training is delivered.
- Conduct audits to verify SHE Management System compliance, developing action plans to address identified opportunities in collaboration with pillar leads and sites.
You’re Likely a Match If you have
- Extensive experience in a safety leadership position – preferably in FMCG, Warehousing, Distribution and Supply Chain
- Tertiary qualifications in SHE or a related discipline
- ICAM Lead Investigator Certification
- SHE Lead Auditor Certification
- Proven ability to work effectively with line management to build capability and safety leadership.
- Solutions provider, innovator thinker with a continuous improvement mind-set
- Demonstrated capability in Injury/Claims Management with preference for Return to Work Coordinator Certification
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of programs
