Position Summary: As the SMR Compliance Officer, you will spearhead the transformation and consolidation of SMR's Compliance Programs & Culture within Sales Areas Australia/NZ & South-East Asia. Your primary goal is to lead people, processes, and systems to enhance SMR's value proposition for employees, customers, suppliers, and communities while adhering to legal requirements and stakeholder expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute the SMR Compliance program across all countries and territories within the designated sales areas.
- Oversee key areas including Anti-Bribery & Anti-Corruption, Trade Compliance, Competition Law, Data Privacy, and Speak Up initiatives.
- Establish and maintain policies, procedures, processes, and controls to ensure compliance.
- Collaborate with various support functions and engage with the broader Compliance Network.
- Provide guidance to management on compliance-related risks and opportunities.
- Conduct periodic internal risk assessments and investigations as needed.
- Facilitate training and ensure integration of Compliance requirements into business processes.
- Act as the Data Privacy Lead for the designated sales areas.
- Regularly report to senior management on key compliance metrics and initiatives.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Advanced proficiency in English, both verbal and written; additional language skills preferred.
- Experience in process and project management, preferably in an international corporate setting.
- Strong stakeholder management, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and influencing abilities.
- Educational background in Legal/Compliance, Audit, Finance, or equivalent work experience.
- Willingness to travel frequently within the designated sales areas and internationally as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in Compliance or related fields is advantageous but not essential.
- Experience with system-based solutions development is desirable.
- Exposure to decentralized working environments is a plus.
