Job description

Hogarth is the Global Content Experience Company. Part of WPP, Hogarth partners with one in every two of the world's top 100 brands including Coca-Cola, Ford, Rolex, Nestlé, Mondelez and Dyson. With a breadth of experience across an extensive range of sectors, Hogarth offers the unrivaled ability to deliver relevant, engaging, and measurable content across all channels and media - both established and emerging.
The number of channels at our fingertips; the need for speed; and the drive for mass personalisation, all mean that brands need different solutions.
Our global team of over 6,000 craft and technology experts brings together creative, production and innovation to help clients navigate this exciting and ever-changing world of today's content experience.
ABOUT THE ROLE
With significant expansion of Content Strategy and creation capabilities across the global Hogarth business, the team at Hogarth Australia are looking for a Social Strategy Director to own and drive that capability across our Sydney and Melbourne teams.
As our Social Content SME, the role is accountable for the strategic and executional direction of our Audience-First Social Content, predominantly in motion and video. You will be responsible for the delivery of best-in-class & platform ready content, with a remit across scoping, planning and delivery. As a strategic leader, you will partner with clients to interpret their business ambitions in the Social & Content space, collaborating with our in-house production teams and 'bench' of creators.
You have a real focus on outcomes and effectiveness and can back up your strategies with the rigour of qualitative and quantitative information. You are able to support both clients and the broader Hogarth team with the necessary frameworks and logical thinking that can both sell and deliver fantastic creative output and results.
As the leader of our Social Strategy capablity, you have a keen eye for all things culture, and a knack for how consumers and brands tick. You are a curious individual who is always looking for inspiration and insights that can spark the next big idea.
You are someone who is comfortable with both large and small amounts of information and data, and can whittle it down to salient points that can help elevate and inform the creative work. You are plugged into culture and can identify the right opportunity for our brands to play in.
This role will be responsible for the operational excellence of our Social Content product, ensuring that the right team is working on the right project in a creatively and commercially sustainable way. This will evolve beyond traditional Social Content marketing, having a remit to develop a unique creator style proposition in market, positioned as a purposeful and complementary alternative to traditional production and influencer style work - which clear pros and cons for transparent client discussions and decision making.
As a collaborator to the Creative Director, you will help keep our creative accountable and ensure that we optimise and iterate based on performance data and other valuable metrics. The role will contribute to Social Content credentials and integrate into other service verticals whenever possible and relevant for effective cross-sell of Hogarth capabilities(e.g. modular production, virtual production and AI driven initiatives.)
As an established expert in this space, you will be comfortable in 'the numbers' - aware of how to build a sustainable revenue pipeline, and confident in scoping new leads and opportunities internally within existing Hogarth client base, working with the support of business partners and content leads to identify opportunities to meet key clients. And you'll bring an appreciation of why key mandatory financial processes, systems and policies are established and adhered to, without adding unnecessary cumbersome bureaucracy - In order to keep the process compliant, yet as streamlined and lean as possible.
This role will be responsible for the global connectivity of our offering, ensuring it aligns to emerging and developed WoW models and products from the global network. It will also be the responsibility of this role to grow our 'bench' of talent, positioning us as an incubator and activator of programs such as “The Originals”, a Hogarth Global initiative.
ABOUT YOU
Given key requirements of in-depth, real world experience creating strategies for Social & Content projects, and experience collaborating with Creatives and Production talent, a career history in agency, modern publisher or Social media platform will be critical.
As the leader of our Social Strategy capability, you have a keen eye for all things culture, and a knack for how consumers and brands tick.
You know where your strengths lie and have a low-ego approach to bringing in Subject Matter Expertise when required.
You will have experience engaging with other teams in order to deliver effective work, both on time and on budget, but will be confident taking a leadership position so that the broader team is being upskilled in best practice for social & content projects.
You'll have experience managing and leading teams (small & large) and can demonstrate leadership qualities that have resulted in client and agency growth
With background/experience working on global brands across both digitally-led as well as integrated campaigns, you'll be passionate about the evolution and future of effective content-driven marketing.
