Are you looking for a long term full time Station Hand position, well our client at Surat, QLD currently has a position available. This is a family owned and operated large scale grazing property which runs Wagyu breeders and replacement heifers.
Job Requirements
This role will include, but will not be limited to:
- Mustering on two wheel motorbikes
- Branding, processing cattle and sometimes weaning
- Water and fencing maintenance and new infrastructure construction
- General maintenance of vehicles and machinery
- Some minor machinery operations such as clearing fence lines, fire breaks or stick raking
- Lick runs
Skills and Attributes
The successful applicant would ideally possess the following:
- Previous Station Hand experience necessary
- Welding and mechanical skills highly regarded
- Current driver’s licence - truck license an advantage
- Some machinery experience
- Possible casual/ part time work for partner
- Good cattle handling and husbandry skills required
- Work well on own as well as in a team environment
- Clean and tidy habits in the workplace and homestead
- Trustworthy, reliable and wanting a long term career
- Agricultural background
Ideally, our client would like someone whom is prepared to live and work on their own as the owners live on a different property. Accommodation is an older style furnished air conditioned two bedroom cottage with a landline, internet and electricity supplied. House pets are allowed and town is located approximately 35km away.
