AddressDeakin University Student Association Inc. (DUSA) is a not-for-profit organisation that is the student voice within Deakin University and in the broader community. We provide a wide range of support services to all students that study on and off campus with the aim to enhance their student experience at Deakin.
DUSA provides services, activities and representation on academic issues affecting students at all Deakin University campuses. The organisation is governed by a board of elected students and is independent from the University. We aim to provide students with the No. 1 University Experience by delivering programs and services that make a difference to students as they navigate through their time at university.
Reporting to the General Manager, the position of StudentEngagement Manager is a key leadership role in the Management Team contributing to the delivery of the Strategic Plan.
Managing the Student Engagement department, your team of 9 are located across 3 geographical locations. This multifaceted hands-on role oversees 4 key functions – Events & Activities, Sports, Clubs and Training & Programs. Each represents an area of Student Engagement and service delivery.
Your day to day will involve leading the Student Engagement team and working across all internal departments, connecting with key University and related stakeholders and suppliers, negotiating supplier agreements, overseeing project plans, maintaining risk assessments, ensuring events are to budget and expectation, preparing reports for monthly Student Council meetings, staff management and much more.
As a successful candidate you will possess a strong understanding of event management ideally in a not-for-profit environment coupled with extensive staff management experience. You are someone who can think laterally, are solution orientated, have excellent communication skills and attention to detail and can manage a virtual team to achieve results.
An attractive salary package is on offer including a company car and a generous superannuation of 14%. This role can be based in Burwood or Geelong (dependant on the candidate)
