About the Role - Superintendent IT&C
We are seeking an experienced Superintendent of Information Technology & Communications to join our team at the Porgera operation. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all IT & Communications capital infrastructure projects at the Porgera site. Reporting to the Manager of IT & Communications, this role offers a unique opportunity to lead a dedicated team and drive technological advancements in a challenging and rewarding environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of IT & Communications infrastructure projects at the Porgera site.
- Coordinate support for capital projects from Regional Business Units and Corporate.
- Manage and support IT & Communications activities, ensuring compliance with corporate standards.
- Collaborate with local service providers to meet the IT & Communications needs of other PNG sites.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and corporate standards while achieving project objectives within specified cost, quality, and schedule parameters.
- Maintain up-to-date documentation and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Develop and maintain a high level of safety awareness among team members.
- Provide training, coaching, and performance feedback to team members, with a focus on national and local employee development.
- Contribute to the planning, budgeting, and financial performance review processes for the IT & Communications department.
Qualifications and Experience required:
- Tertiary qualifications in IT & Communications or a related field.
- Minimum of five years' experience in a senior or supervisory role in IT & Communications infrastructure.
- Strong project management skills with experience in complex networking environments.
- Demonstrated leadership ability and success in improving technology service levels.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations in the mining industry in PNG.
- Experience in managing budgets and implementing continuous improvement initiatives.
