Systems Engineer

Green Lights Delivery Team requires a Senior Systems Engineer who demonstrates a robust understanding of all the business processes and system interfaces of a system, demonstrates problem solving skills that span the application, middleware, and infrastructure levels.

The Senior Systems Engineer responsibilities will include designs for significant new system functionality with a consideration of performance, stability, and supportability. Reviews and provides feedback on business requirements to fully leverage technology to improve business functions.

The Senior Systems Engineer will be advanced troubleshooting for infrastructure, networking, security, and application issues. Provide project architecture and oversight with in-depth technical expertise on infrastructure projects.  The Senior Systems Engineer will assess and recommend architectural designs/changes to customer systems in response to business or technical drivers. Contribute to written proposals and develop technical documentation.

Responsibilities:

• Perform network, infrastructure and system administration tasks for clients.
• Conduct the technical build or rebuild, installation and testing of servers, workstations, virtual machines, and other devices; and the installation, configuration and testing of networks.
• Conduct the technical build or rebuild of virtual machine host environments;.
• Conduct the build and installation of SOEs for clients, general software installation, data migration and data backup standards.
• Produce accurate and effective documentation, including system specifications, user manuals, and task management and project reporting.
• Delivery of Infrastructure design services in the area of VMWare virtualisation, storage, foundation services and Redhat Technologies and deployment of applications in these environments.
• Delivery of documentation to support the areas of VMWare virtualisation, storage, foundation services and Redhat Technologies. 
• Customer liaison for solutions including presentation of design and deployment strategies.
• Provide subject matter expertise in the areas of VMWare, Cisco UCS, Virtualization Technologies and Windows Server operating systems.
• Participate in the creation, maintenance, testing, and execution of the Disaster Recovery plan.
• High level of design, architecture and engineering expertise with virtualization and automation technologies (ie. VMware, Citrix, Service Now).
• Incorporate Cloud / Private Cloud Computing concepts into designs and daily activities
• Responsible for system level programming / scripting on an ad hoc basis and to facilitate the management of supported applications and technologies.
• Performs configuration, integration, maintenance, performance management, security management, failure analysis and recovery, and user support.
• Provide mentoring and coaching to peers and subordinate team members specifically assigned as Systems Administrators.
• Anticipate, mitigate, identify, troubleshoot, report, and resolve hardware, software, and firmware problems on servers.

Requirements:

• Experience with Active Directory, DNS and DHCP administration support.
• Significant networking experience.
• PowerShell or other scripting Knowledge.
• Cisco UCS / Fabric Interconnect / Converged Infrastructure Enterprise Storage (Fiber Channel) Experience
• Experience with Backup and Replication experience, or equivalent backup platform.
• Experience VMWare / Server Virtualization Experience.
• Working experience with installing, configuring, deploying and supporting RedHat Linux systems in a large enterprise environment.
