About the role
It is an exciting time to participate and support the growth of ICYMHS and the wider Mental Health Division at Austin Health!
The Team Leader /Senior Clinican for the Infant and Child Community Team ( Inner North) is a newly created position that will be providing day to day management and leadership to the team together with clinical expertise and case management to those Under 12's referred into the service, in line with the Royal Commission into Mental Health recommendations.
A regular day will see you:
Manage and lead the team
Provide supervision - line management and discipline specific supervision
Engage with children and their families within clinical and outreach settings
Provide family therapy to children and their families who attend the service
Contribute to the development of the model of care for the Infant andChild Community Teams
Assist the team in formulation and recommendations using a discipline specific and systemic lens
Work collaboratively with families, co-clinicians and key stakeholders to support referred children
About you
If you are passionate about and experienced in the infant and child mental health sector and enjoy shaping a new team and a service for children and their families, we are keen for you to join us!
To be successful in this role you will bring with you:
A relevant qualification and AHPRA registration
Relevant minimum years of post-graduate experience in a tertiary mental health setting or other related field with specific experience with children and families
Demonstrated capacity to provide Family Therapy across different settings and to share Family Therapy knowledge and skills within teams
Demonstrated ability in and knowledge of the identification, assessment and treatment of children and their families
