The Queensland Police Service is establishing a dedicated First Nations and Cultural Capability training team.
You and your team will establish, build and maintain effective communication and collaboration with QPS business areas, multicultural / First Nations peoples and communities, representatives of government departments, and external agencies in order to lead and drive education and training activities directly relevant to frontlinepolicing and service delivery; as well as to meet community needs and expectations.
Your key accountabilities
• Develop and deliver QPS education and training courses and programs using evidence based adult education techniques and training best practice strategies.
• Work collaboratively as a team member and contribute to a diverse range of education and training projects through the design, development, implementation, coordination and evaluation of QPS education and training courses and programs.
• Liaise, consult and negotiate across QPS business areas to conduct needs analysis and assess cultural training requirements.
• Develop and maintain effective and appropriate communication and collaboration with QPS business areas, multicultural / First Nations peoples and communities, representatives of government departments, and external agencies in order to identify efficiencies, consistency and enhance service delivery outcomes relating to education and training.
• Contribute to effective teamwork, problem solving and positive interaction and communication with all key stakeholders, in line with human resource policies having particular regard to employment equity, anti-discrimination, occupational health and safety, and ethical behaviour.
Role Requirements
Mandatory
• While there are no mandatory requirements for this role, possession of skills and experience in an accredited tertiary qualification in adult education would be highly regarded.
Qualification
• Nil.
Technical/ Operational/ Educational experience
• Previous experience with the design, development and delivery of Cultural Capability training would be highly regarded.
Other
• This position will be required to undertake travel within Queensland
