Transport Manager – QLD – BCC Transport

Join our esteemed medium-sized family business situated on the south side of Brisbane as we seek a dependable and driven Transport Manager. In this role, you will manage our Queensland team to foster elevated standards in customer service, safety, compliance, and promote an inclusive team culture.

BCC Transport also has operations in New South Wales, Victoria, and South Australia, and you will be an integral part of the broader management team, fostering collaboration and synergy across locations.

Qualifications:

• Candidates with Diploma or Tertiary Qualifications preferred

Tasks and responsibilities:

• Lead and inspire our team of drivers to optimize operational efficiency
• Cultivate and nurture customer relationships 
• Oversee daily operational tasks such as invoicing and administrative duties
• Identify opportunities for consistent improvement in service standards
• Establish streamlined processes and protocols to enhance fleet efficiencies
• Coordinate efficient and cost-effective daily delivery routes across Queensland & Northern NSW using company software 
• Document and oversee safety protocols and compliance measures to meet regulatory standards 
• Enforce policies and procedures to adhere to Mass Management standards 
• Develop and oversee training programs for drivers, encompassing fatigue management, mass management, and safety compliance 
• Maintain vehicles to the highest standards 
• Foster effective collaboration and communication with internal and external stakeholders

The successful candidate will have:

• Minimum 3 years management experience
• Demonstrated experience in leading and motivating a team of drivers
• Exceptional abilities in customer service coupled with a keen talent for recognising and nurturing emerging opportunities
• Planning and scheduling experience with excellent geographical knowledge of Queensland and Northern NSW and the ability to anticipate and adapt to changing requirements
• Demonstrated experience in fatigue management training and monitoring
• Experience in OH&S, compliance with Chain of Responsibility within the transport industry (including the transportation of dangerous goods)
• Experience in mass management, record keeping, and compliance
• Strong record management skills and high attention to detail
• Excellent written and verbal communication and negotiation skills
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Excellent IT knowledge – including Microsoft Office packages, use of tablets, and ability to quickly learn a bespoke company software package
