About our client
Our client is a multinational organization that provides solutions to industries including FMCG and mining. They are an established player in their industry with years of experience. They have created a new Warehouse Manager and seeking an experienced individual to add value to their business.
About the role
The Warehouse Manager assists the Supply Chain Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the warehouse, including inventory management, receiving storage, order fulfilment, and shipping. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring efficient workflow, maintaining inventory accuracy, and meeting customer demands while adhering to safety and quality standards.
- Support the Supply Chain Manager in organizing and coordinating warehouse activities, including receiving, picking, packing, and shipping.
- Assist in managing inventory levels and ensuring accurate stock counts through regular cycle counts and periodic audits.
- Supervise warehouse staff, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback to ensure optimal productivity and efficiency.
- Collaborate with the Supply Chain Manager to develop and implement procedures for efficient warehouse operations and inventory control.
- Monitor and enforce safety regulations and practices to maintain a safe working environment for all warehouse personnel.
- Oversee the maintenance of warehouse equipment and facilities, coordinating repairs and preventive maintenance as needed.
- Assist in the implementation of quality control measures to ensure accuracy and integrity of inventory transactions and order fulfillment.
- Work closely with other departments such as logistics, procurement, and customer service to fulfill orders accurately and on time.
- Handle escalated issues or inquiries from customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders related to warehouse operations.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying areas for process optimization, cost reduction, and workflow enhancements.
- Prepare reports on warehouse activities, including inventory levels, order fulfillment metrics, and operational performance indicators.
- Participate in regular meetings with management to discuss warehouse performance, goals, and strategic initiatives.
Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field preferred.
- Proven experience in warehouse operations, with at least 2-3 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail.
- Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control principles.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices in warehouse operations.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficiency in using MS Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Forklift certification and experience operating material handling equipment preferred.
