Located at our Shepparton Wastewater Management Facility you will assist in the daily operations of designated wastewater treatment plants with the collection of wastewater samples and as required, assisting with other duties within EPA and safety guidelines.
As a water industry operative you will have effective communication skills, good interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently and as part of the team.
An enjoyment and understanding for technical and maintenance activities will ensure your success in the role.
Possession of, or willingness to obtain Cert 3 in Water Industry Operations (Wastewater) is required, and we will support you to achieve this and more!
About your new role...
You will be part of a small team, in a great outdoor location, assisting with looking after the Corporation's Central Wastewater Management facilities. You will specialise in Wastewater Management operations including preventative/routine maintenance, disposal and irrigation.
Daily tasks will include assisting in the operation of designated Wastewater Management facilities, collecting wastewater samples and updating operational and performance data. You will also have administrative tasks to complete regularly and be responsive to our customers queries and service issues. This will all be performed in conjunction with contributing to maintaining a safe workplace and being a valued team member.
About you...
To be considered for this role you must have demonstrated the following:
- Minimum Year 11 education or appropriate trade qualification
- Cert 3 Water Industry Operations (Wastewater) (or willingness to complete)
- Understanding of hydraulics and mechanical plant
- Demonstrated commitment, ability and experience in resolving issues whilst providing a strong customer focus.
- Physically capable of undertaking tasks in relation to the operation and maintenance of wastewater systems
- Experience working as part of a on call/duty roster
- Strong OHS focus, commitment, and application
- Ability to apply standardised laboratory procedures and practices
- Carry out basic mathematical calculations and interpret results
- Committed to contributing positively to your team and the organisation
- Ability to work effectively, or learn quickly, with computer-based technology
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organisational, self-management and problem-solving skills
- Adaptable, hands on and enjoy working outdoors and in all elements
- A current driver's licence

- Classification GVW2: $55,142 - $74,025 + super (starting point is dependent upon relevant, qualifications, skills and experience)
