Wedding & Events Coordinator

About you
We are looking for someone special, someone who has a passion for creating memorable events, which exceed client expectations. Our next new team member will be an ambassador for our brand and this will shine through in the service they deliver to our guests. The person will be the main point of contact for weddings at the hotel and drive the friendly and dedicated service from start to finish.
The role
Reporting to our Conference & Events Manager, this role will encompass:
- Handling incoming wedding & event enquiries and responses in the first instance
- Provide tailored wedding / event proposals (according to hotel standards) within a 24 hour period
- Responsibility for growth of target markets within the events categories and all market segments
- Build and enhance client relationships via face to face appointments, site inspections, and represent the hotel including attendance at external events as required by the Director of Sales and Marketing
- Generate reports for Financial Controller and General Manager on request
- Working in a team environment to achieve monthly KPI’s and key targets
- Weekly and monthly reporting with a focus on new business opportunities and competitor analysis
What we need
To be a successful applicant, you will need:
- Previous experience in a similar events role (desirable)
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts including weekends and evenings when required, however Monday to Friday is a typical working week.
- Ability to build strong relationships with both external and internal customers
- Attention to detail and excellent organisational skills a necessity
- Previous experience using Opera PMS & Sales and Catering (desirable)
- Excellent communication and time management skills
