Position Profile: We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic person to join our Work Health Safety and Wellbeing team located at Perth Children's Hospital.

As a Workplace Violence and Aggression Coordinator, you will assist in the implementation of the Child and Adolescent Health Service (CAHS) Workplace Violence and Aggression (WVA) Strategy. You will provide a risk management and consultancy service to CAHS stakeholders in the prevention and management of WVA, ensuring CAHS can meet its work health and safety obligations in maintaining a safe workplace. This role also requires experience in developing, implementing and evaluating evidence-based initiatives for WVA prevention and intervention strategies and programs aimed at a reduction in incidents and injuries and fostering an organisation-wide safety culture.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Provide a comprehensive WVA consultancy service.
  • Provide advice to line managers to assist them to meet their WVA legislative obligations.
  • Provide advice, report and support on WVA matters to relevant health service committees and working groups.
  • Provide advice / consultation to ensure WVA training programs delivered to staff are current and consistent across the organisation.
  • Develop, present and implement programs and strategies designed to increase the awareness of staff, patients/ clients and visitors related to WVA.
  • Contribute to the development, implementation and review of WVA policies, procedures, strategies and plans.
  • Keep up to date with trends and developments in WVA and undertake research on the reduction of risks.

CAHS is made up four service areas: Neonatology, Community Health, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS), and Perth Children’s Hospital (PCH).
