Role Overview:
- Part-time - 20 hours per week (with view to potentially increase over time)
- Annual Salary to be negotiated based on experience and will be pro-rated based on part-time hours.
- Based in Kooya's Osborne Park office, 3 days per week.
We are seeking an experienced, dedicated and detail-oriented Accounts Officer to join our dynamic team at Kooya. The primary responsibility of the Accounts Officer is to assist with the day-to-day financial management of the organization. The position will play a pivotal role in the finance team ensuring the financial integrity of Kooya’s operations by ensuring all financial data is recorded and processed timely and accurately. The Accounts Officer will be required to build good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders and have the ability and willingness to work with others to assist in meeting customer and supplier expectations.
Additionally, the Accounts Officer is expected to have a can-do attitude that is required in a small office environment and a willingness to assist other team members with day-to-day operational tasks, ad-hoc projects, process improvements and financial analysis as required.
Responsibilities:
- Preparation of monthly Accounts Receivable invoices in Xero/Rental Management System and ensure both platforms reconcile.
- Process Accounts Payable invoices into Xero in a timely manner and manage payment disbursements and ensure adherence to payment schedules including preparation of Weekly Payment requests and remittance advice.
- Accounting for vehicles and other fixed assets in Xero including purchase, sale, depreciation, associated lease payments and higher purchases charges and ensuring balance sheet accounts reconcile accordingly.
- Accurate data processing of Accounts Receivable invoices in Customer portals to ensure timely cash collection.
- Perform daily Bank Reconciliations in Xero to ensure accurate data and reporting.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to address queries and discrepancies.
- Maintenance of the Accounts inbox including responding to queries in a timely manner.
- Data entry and analysis within Microsoft Excel of Vehicle Repairs and Maintenance costs to ensure Clients are recharged in accordance with contractual agreements.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for audit and tax purposes.
- Assist in month-end closing activities and financial reporting.
- Review and follow-up of Aged Receivables weekly.
- Ad hoc office and administration duties as required.
Job Requirements:
- Proven experience (min 2 years) as an Accounts Officer or in a similar role.
- Post-secondary qualifications in business administration /accounting
- Proficient in Xero (preferred) or similar accounting program.
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office suite of applications, at least intermediate level in Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in processing financial data.
- Excellent and professional verbal and written communication skills.
- Outstanding time management skills with ability to multitask and prioritize with an enthusiastic and can-do attitude.
- Ability to work unsupervised, to self-start tasks and to seek clarification when required.
- Knowledge of accounting principles, regulations quality assurance and compliance procedures.
- Ability and willingness to grow within the role as the business grows.
- To be seeking a long-term stable opportunity and have good longevity in previous roles.
