Your new opportunityThis role plays a key role in the Cabinet Legislation Liaison Office (CLLO) by providing support to the team and senior management.The role also has key responsibilities in liaising with clients within Treasury to ensure the team are aware of upcoming changes to the Cabinets program. You will be at the centre of an exciting area of the department that is key to the success of Queensland Government.
In this role, you will:Assist the CLLO team by providing high-level administrative support of activities in relation to Cabinet and Parliamentary Services and other government business, including the preparation of reports to support the management of the CLLO teams work program.
Coordinate Cabinet and Cabinet Committee briefing materials, submissions and other documents as required, ensuring quality, relevance, appropriateness and compliance with relevant government guidelines. Develop and sustain partnerships across Government via the CLLO network and Treasury groups to facilitate and seek improvements to the coordination and implementation of Cabinet processes.
Maintain knowledge of Government policies, procedures and processes when processing Cabinet, Parliamentary and other Government business. Assist with preparing correspondence and other materials for the Deputy Premier meeting requirements for Cabinet, legislation, Executive Council and tabling processes, and prepare reports for the Deputy Premier on Treasury's decision implementation status and timeframes, and on the progress of election commitments.
Support an effective and efficient client focused workflow by forward planning and prioritising for the effective coordination of the department's Cabinet program. Maintain an awareness of current and developing issues across Queensland Treasury to identify gaps in the cabinet preparation process.
What experience you will bring:- knowledge of, or the ability to learn, the procedures of Government, Cabinet, Ministerial and Parliamentary and Executive Council processes- strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills
Whilst there are no mandatory qualifications needed for this role, however, relevant qualifications in are highly regarded.
