Talent International are currently partnering with a Federal Government Agency to fill multiple APS4 Biosecurity Officersix month contract positions based in Brisbane Airport.
About the role:
This role will see you working in an office environment and take responsibility of the below duties:
- Assessing import documentation in line with appropriate legislation and policy settings.
- Managing goods that do not comply with import requirements and capturing information to support evidence-based decisions.
- Provide timely and accurate advice on complex biosecurity matters to employees, stakeholders / clients and senior managers.
- Identifying trends in biosecurity risks and escalating these to assist in targeting intelligence and risk-based activities.
- Managing, modelling, and monitoring compliance with appropriate standards of behaviour in line with departmental expectations.
What you'll need to succeed:

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to form views, provide advice and make effective evidence based regulatory decisions in accordance with legislation, policies, and procedures.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy, ability to review complex documents.
- Current Baseline Security Clearance, or willingness to obtain one upon offer required.
- Competent administration and literacy skills, able to learn new systems and devices quickly.
- Ability to work from the office in Brisbane Airport five days per week.
