Job description

About the role: 

The Australian Financial Security Authority (AFSA) is responsible for managing the application of bankruptcy and personal property securities laws through the delivery of high-quality personal insolvency and trustee, regulation and enforcement, and personal property securities services. 

Purpose of the Position: 

Provide high level executive administrative support to the National Manager to facilitate key business outcomes and offer support to site and business line staff in the provision of local and national activities.

Key accountabilities

Deliver a wide range of executive support and operational administrative services to Senior Management including:

  • Preparation and coordination of a range of general and confidential written communications including correspondence, board papers, secretariat agendas and minutes.
  • Undertaking research, as required.
  • Drafting, under general direction, correspondence, and reports.
  • File management.
  • Diary management, email management and answering enquiries.
  • Organising and coordinating meetings, teleconferences, venues
  • Travel/accommodation arrangements.
  • Administrative support for the delivery of programs and events for the Division.
  • Support senior executives in ensuring all business line functions are undertaken in accordance with relevant legislation, procedures, management assurance practices and guidelines.

All duties will be performed in accordance with:

  • the APS Values, Code of Conduct and Employment Principles.
  • WHS obligations, taking responsibility for own health and safety and that of others.
  • AFSA’s risk management framework and relevant legislation, including guiding others to identify and mitigate foreseeable risks.

  • Supports in coordination and prioritising office administration tasks including setting up systems, processing, facilities coordination, processing support, ICT user support and coordinating travel and accommodation with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.

The successful applicant must have or be willing to undergo and maintain a security clearance to the level of Baseline Vetting as a condition of employment.

To satisfy character requirements all AFSA employees must undergo a police records check.
