As an Assistant Accountant, you will be a proactive self-starter with and the ability to cope with pressure, tight timelines and ambiguity. Previous commercial experience is desired as this role entails you to think outside the box. Excellent communication skills and a mature, responsible mindset as it often required working autonomously with a wide variety of stakeholders.

About Your Role:

As an Assistant Accountant, you will be responsible for:

  • Day to day financial responsibilities, including reporting and accounting.
  • Partnering with the relevant Event coordinator to accurately report the financials of the Events.
  • Managing Tour and Commercial financials including invoicing, accounts payable and reporting.
  • Assisting in preparation of budgets and iterative forecasting.
  • Preparing of month end accruals and prepayment journals.
  • Reconciling of sales to daily cash receipts.
  • Following up of outstanding debtors.
  • Being accountable for timely and accurate daily, weekly and month end invoicing of entities.
  • Working with the central accounts department relating to any AP and AR queries..
  • Assisting in the preparation of monthly management reports, including profit and loss, balance sheet reconciliations and variance to budget/forecast analysis.

About You: 

To be successful in this role, you will:

  • Tertiary qualifications in accounting and or 3+ years in a finance role within a commercial organisation.
  • Intermediate experience with Microsoft Excel.
  • Previous experience with the software packages Technology One and Salesforce would be beneficial, but not essential.
  • Proactive self-starter who has the ability to cope with pressure, tight deadlines and ambiguity, whilst consistently maintaining their attention to detail, accuracy and confidence.
  • Commercial acumen and experience dealing with non-finance stakeholders
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to multitask across different types of accounting-related projects
  • Hospitality and / or entertainment industry experience is desired, but not essential.
