About Research, Innovation and Commercialisation (RIC)
Research, Innovation and Commercialisation (RIC) is the central facilitator of research funding in the University, taking advantage of the full diversity of research funding opportunities. RIC operates University-wide across all ten Academic Divisions and Chancellery.
About the Role
This is a pivotal leadership role within RGCS and across RIC. Your role will play a crucial part in how we support further increases in funded research through developing and implementing new services, new processes in existing services and introduce new research management systems.
Responsibilities include:
- participation as a critical and senior team member of the RGCS leadership team; support development of strategic and operational plans for RGCS aligned with the research needs of the University
- lead and drive innovative change and process/system improvement to support greater user satisfaction and efficiency as well as increasing data accuracy
- encourage and embed a high performance, service excellence culture as a means of driving improvement of outcomes through behaviours and practices
- lead and develop the skills and capabilities required across RGCS to meet future needs
- proactively manage and develop effective relationships with a complex and broad range of stakeholders to effectively implement strategies to enhance the University’s performance in securing research funding
About You
You will be a master of change, experienced in delivering effective new processes and a top-level people leader. You will be a mentor, coach, and an expert in building relationships.
You will also be able to demonstrate your extensive track record in:
- understanding of the Australian research environment
- leading in a complex, service orientated organisation that has a proven track record of effective delivery and client satisfaction
- working with others to develop a high performing team through motivating and coaching
- creating efficient end to end processes in pre-award areas of research, informed by analysis and with measurable outcomes
- driving innovation in service delivery leading to a high level of service excellence
- problem solving & judgment skills translatable in a large multidisciplinary University
- developing extensive relationships and meaningful connections with a broad range of stakeholders in a complex matrix structure; ability to influence key outcomes
